When he splits himself in two, his clothes rip and therefore his clones ended up fighting in the nude with the large realistic looking prosthetic penis dangling between his legs.
According to showrunner Eric Kripke, the sequence took eight days to shoot, involving intricate choreography and visual effects to portray multiple clones of Splinter in action simultaneously. Kripke detailed the challenging process, emphasizing the need to shoot, cut, and reposition Benedict for each clone iteration.
The prosthetic penis, which appeared significantly larger than average, was used to add a shocking element to the scene while ensuring Benedict’s comfort during the extended shoot. But there is probably a simpler explanation. TV shows are ratings-driven, so they include elements that captivate and intrigue audiences. The use of an oversized penis on “The Boys” likely reflects what audiences want and expect.
The show can generate a buzz and keep viewers talking, thereby boosting ratings and viewer engagement. Both men and women tend to talk about seeing a large penis.
